The letter is basically one long apology for all the "bad" things she did while raising Kang-ho. Hidden within the frame is a secret letter that Young-soon wrote for Kang-ho before she died. The pair talk of marriage, prompting Kang-ho to take a closer look at his mother's own wedding photo. We then discover that Kang-ho has taken over the management of Happy Farm along with Mi-joo as the happy couple we've always wanted them to be. But right before she goes to leave him and return to that life, the face-mask-loving weirdo suddenly realises that she's pregnant, so she stays with Yong-rak, after all. Even weirder is how Yong-rak's wife is revealed to actually be ex-Yakuza after all. In the future, we see Sam-sik trying to woo Ha-young with his mother's underwear from behind bars, which is just as weird as it sounds. "Goodbye" was too final for him, and it's too final for Kang-ho now. Halfway through, Kang-ho realises that his mother has died but he keeps on singing through the tears, his voice cracking as he says "See you later," like Kang-ho's father would always say to Young-soon. Young-soon tells Kang-ho that she's never felt happier, and with that, she falls asleep for good. That night, Kang-ho sings his mother to sleep with the same lullaby he sang back when they went on an adorable mother/son date a few episodes back. If only the show could end there with us drowning in our tears, but wait, there's more crying to be had still.Īfter the party's over, Young-soon gives Kang-ho and Mi-joo the engagement rings she and her husband once shared before his passing with the advice to love each other "like it's your last time." Everyone's happy and enjoying themselves until Young-soon gives a speech where she thanks everyone for the life she's had despite all the bad luck that's come her way. It's Young-soon's birthday, so Kang-ho and the whole Jou-ri village put on a special party for her. With all that revenge finally sorted, The Good Bad Mother switches gears back to the relationship at the heart of this show. With that, Kang-ho arrests both Tae-soo and Woo-byeok for "abetting the murders of Hwang Soo-hyun and her son, myself and my mother, and Choi Hae-sik." Kang-ho brings in the child of Tae-soo's former employee to stir up more drama which ends up being too much for Tae-soo who then tries to flee the court. The Good Bad Mother doubles down on a bad TV trend.Undeterred by all this, Ha-young then tells the court that both her father and Woo-byeok are responsible for Hae-sik's death and the subsequent cover-up. Ha-young also opens up about her father's corrupt behaviour, which he then twists around and uses against her by claiming she's mentally ill. But then draaama comes a-knocking when Tae-soo's daughter, Ha-young, admits to everyone that she deliberately caused Kang-ho's accident when she secretly drugged him with sleeping pills. Tae-soo testifies against Woo-byeok too, all while the residents of Jou-ri watch on in support of Kang-ho. Ji-suk testifies first about the assault and how Woo-byeok's previous employees have a funny habit of suddenly dying when they learn too much. So far, so good, and with that, the trial commences. As the business mogul threatens to kill him too, Kang-ho arrives on the roof with officers who arrest Woo-byeok for "special assault and attempted murder." Meanwhile, Ji-suk records a conversation with his former employer, Woo-byeok, to help Kang-ho nail him in court. If Tae-soo refuses, then the presidential candidate's daughter will testify in his place, which could ruin Tae-soo as well as Woo-byeok. The Good Bad Mother finale begins with Kang-ho giving Tae-soo "a chance" to testify against Woo-byeok, the man who arranged the death of Kang-ho's father thirty years prior.
